The typical window — the 10th to 85th percentile — is what most parcels actually do; the median is just the middle of it. And the sample size matters: the US, Germany and Canada sit on well over a hundred parcels each, while some smaller routes rest on a few dozen or fewer, so treat those as a guide rather than a promise.
South Africa is the outlier on every measure, with a median several times longer than anywhere else and a very wide window. If you ship there, plan in months, not weeks.
What the clock measures, and what it leaves out
Every figure here runs from the first scan by an international carrier to the delivery scan. It does not include the time your items spend at the agent's warehouse — arriving from the seller, QC photos, and waiting for you to submit the parcel.
