What "batch" means, and what LJR is

In rep sneakers a batch is the version of a shoe made by one particular factory. The same model can come from several factories at very different quality and price, and the community names them — LJR, PK, GX, M and so on — so buyers can ask for a specific one.

LJR is one of the longest-running names, known above all for Jordan 1 highs. In our table it is the top pick on 39 entries across Jordan lines: Jordan 1 (19), Jordan 4 (8), Jordan 11 (5), Jordan 6 (3).

Where LJR wins: general-release Jordans

The pattern in the data is clear. LJR's top picks are overwhelmingly general-release Jordans — the everyday colourways rather than the limited collaborations. Only 5 of its 39 top picks are collabs (13%). Compare PK, where 15 of 24 are (62%).

When LJR is the top pick, the most common alternative is FK / CZ (on 24 of 39 entries), and the most common budget option is DG (9). The alternative is usually close on quality at a lower price; the budget batch trades accuracy for a much lower price.

Ask for the batch by name when you find the listing, and treat the batch as a promise to verify rather than a guarantee.
